Project Background & Objectives

The aim of this assignment is to develop a detailed 3D finite element model of the dam structure (as per attached drawings and research objectives) using PLAXIS 3D. This model will serve as the foundation for subsequent seismic soil-structure interaction (SSI) analysis once ground motion data is provided.

Objectives

  • Model the dam geometry, foundation, appurtenant structures, and surrounding soil in PLAXIS 3D.
  • Incorporate all relevant material properties, boundary conditions, and initial conditions as provided by the client.
  • Prepare the model for future dynamic (seismic) analysis, ensuring all interfaces and domains are correctly defined.
